Mamma Andersson

Karin Mamma Andersson (b. 1962) is a Swedish painter known for her atmospheric landscapes and interiors that combine realism with surreal elements. Getting inspiration from Nordic folklore, theatre and personal memories, her works evoke both familiarity and mystery. Andersson's unique style – characterized by textured brushstrokes and stark graphic lines – explores the space between reality and imagination. Her art has been widely exhibited, including at the Venice Biennale and in prominent collections like MoMA in New York, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk and Moderna Museet in Stockholm.
