Description
In Paper Collective's Girl and Hat art poster, the everyday moment is transformed into a captivating work of art. A play on voids, textures, light and shadows, the photographic work of Finnish photographer and darkroom artist, Mikael Siirilä, surprises with its abstractness and multidimensionality. The traditional silver gelatin technique used by Siirilä underscores the poetic storytelling of his work.
Paper Collective's posters are printed in limited editions and part of each sold poster will be donated to a good cause – this poster will support the WWF and their Waste to Value program battling plastic waste. The artists include renowned illustrators, graphic designers and photographers across the world, whose work is well suited for contemporary decor.

Mikael Siirilä (b.1978) is a Finnish photographer and darkroom artist known for his black-and-white works of art made using the traditional silver gelatin method. In Siirilä's work, everyday encounters – and the exclusion of them – take on poetic, abstract forms.
The authenticity of a handmade photograph combined with Siirilä's skilful visual storytelling makes his work surprising and filled with meaning.
