Description
Nikari’s Poeme shelf, designed by the Finnish Poiat Studio, boasts a charmingly minimalist, elegant design with influences from Japanese architecture and the forms of old Finnish tools made of wood. Poeme’s name stems from the French word poème, which translates to “poem” – there is indeed something poetic about the softly rounded form of the shelf’s horizontal and vertical wooden slats and the accuracy of their repetition.
Made in Finland of oak wood, the Poeme shelf is characterised by the material’s natural warmth and grain that makes each piece uniquely beautiful. The classic material and reduced design language allow the shelf to be used in a variety of private and public settings either as a bookshelf or a display for your most prized possessions from souvenirs to ceramic art.

Poiat is the design studio of Antti Rouhukoski and Timo Mikkonen, which specializes in interior architecture, product design, design concepts and consulting. The designers had met while studying at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki and pursued their own career until established Poiat in 2010.
Poiat has designed the Coupé shelves for Woud, the Q2 housing concept for Sunhouse and several interiors for private clients and companies. The studio’s Lavitta collection was selected as the best furniture of the year at the Finnish Muoto 2015 design awards gala.
