Design House Stockholm's Mellow clock is more a poetic take on time than a precise timekeeper. Designed by Joe Parr, this abstract wall clock playfully challenges our idea of time and its exact rhythms. Gone are the numbers, the second hand – even the dial itself. What remains – two sculptural, voluminous hands and a softly swaying pendulum – invites us to experience time as a continuous, personal flow.
Balancing somewhere between a wall clock and a piece of kinetic art, Mellow doesn't look back or rush ahead – it simply draws your attention to the here and now. Its slow, calming motion becomes a visual reminder that life is happening in this very moment. Crafted from high-gloss painted aluminium, Mellow is a perfect fit for spaces that call for thought, creativity, and freedom from rigid schedules.

Joe Parr is an American industrial designer whose work spans furniture, lighting, consumer goods and technology. He studied design at the Cranbrook Academy of Art and has worked with various companies in the field, including Herman Miller. In 2020, Parr established his own design studio in Chicago. Alongside his design practice, he also teaches at Kendall College of Art and Design.
Parr’s design philosophy is based on a holistic perspective that combines technical skill, user-focused thinking and craft-oriented experimentation, along with an interest in psychology and the observation of everyday life.
