Karl Isakson (1878–1922) was a Swedish-born modernist who lived and worked primarily in Denmark and is considered one of the early pioneers of Nordic modern art. Strongly influenced by French cubism, his paintings often depict landscapes, still lifes or solitary figures with bold colours, simplified shapes and light. Though his career was brief, his legacy remains an essential part of the modern Scandinavian art tradition.
