The Kaski lounge chair by Made by Choice boasts a charmingly minimalist look that fuses modern, clean lines with a distinctively rustic flair. The chair comprises a slender frame in ash wood complemented by a linen weave seat and a leather cushion that adds a soft touch to the design – both literally and visually.
When creating Kaski, designer Joanna Laajisto thought of the rugged aesthetics of 19th-century Finnish countryside and the way people used to craft everything themselves. When furniture, tableware or even tools were not as easy to acquire, it was crucial to pay special attention to durable materials and intricately crafted joints. This is also the idea behind Kaski: not only is it honed to the last detail, but also designed to withstand even heavy use.
