Description

Marimekko's Zip Top Backpack Unikko showcases the classic Unikko pattern in elegant gray tones. Made from recycled polyester, this backpack features adjustable, padded shoulder straps, a zippered front pocket and open side pockets. With a zip closure, it is ideal for office, school or small trips, and includes a dedicated laptop pocket inside. The stylish design is completed with leather details and a Marimekko keychain hanging on one side.

The Unikko pattern came about in 1964 after Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, had announced in public that no floral fabrics are designed at Marimekko. Maija Isola did not accept rules or restrictions and designed in protest a complete collection of bold floral patterns: Unikko, a Finnish word that means poppy. Today, Unikko is one of Marimekko's best-known patterns and is recognized worldwide.
