Muuto's Relevo rug has an exceptional shape and vibrant pattern that make sure that the carpet will certainly stand out, no matter if you place it on your bedroom floor or in the living room. The wool carpet is designed by the Italian design studio Studiopepe which took inspiration for the sculptural rug from land art, an art movement that uses natural materials from the earth: soil, rocks and water. And yes, certainly, the graphic lines of the Relevo carpet have much in common with the twisting and winding paths drawn on the surface of the earth.
The Relevo carpet is made by hand tufting wool and then cutting it into different layers. The result is a three-dimensional pattern that emerges from the carpet. The pattern plays with shadows, creating the illusion of a two-colored carpet – in fact, only dark green wool has been used. A single rounded corner crowns the soft look of the Relevo rug.
