Description
Kartell's Lepid commode pairs tightly geometric forms with a freer, organic feel. With its slender design and two open shelves, this versatile freestanding shelving unit works beautifully as a side table or TV stand in the living room, a plant stand in front of a window, or a storage unit in the bedroom.
The Lepid collection, designed by Patricia Urquiola, includes a range of storage pieces that are easy to combine, their graphic lines overlapping both vertically and horizontally. The material is MDF made from recycled wood fiber, dressed in a glossy painted finish with edges in a contrasting color. Sturdy surfaces and the open space between them create an intriguing contrast, one that brings a calm rhythm to any room.

The Spanish architect and designer Patricia Urquiola (b. 1961) lives and works in Milan. In 1991 Urquiola began working for the furniture company De Padova in Milan, where she also designed her first furnitures. Between the years 1996 and 2000 she was the manager of Lissoni Associati Design Group and in 2001 she opened her own studio in Milan, where she focuses on product design and architecture. Urquiola has won several design awards and done many projects with various design companies, for example Kartell and Alessi.
