Description
Finarte's Bevi rug is a hand-knotted wool rug designed by Ervin Latimer, with a multidimensional surface that comes beautifully to life as it catches the light. Its graphic expression is enhanced by a pattern created using three different weaving techniques, with sections of long pile rising from the center against a more even surface. The pattern and framing structure of the Bevi rug draw inspiration from traditional textiles and motifs from West Africa and the western regions of Southern Africa, reinterpreted by Latimer from a contemporary Nordic perspective.
Made from high-quality wool and finished with a sturdy cotton backing, the Bevi rug is a fine example of Latimer's talent for textile art, honed through his work as a fashion designer. Soft and pleasant underfoot, the wool rug adds warmth and character to living rooms and bedrooms, while its artistic qualities also make it suitable for use as a wall hanging. The Bevi rug is made in India according to sustainable principles.

Ervin Latimer (b. 1988) is a Finnish fashion designer who graduated from Aalto University in 2020 – the same year he was awarded the Finnish Young Designer of the Year prize. He is best known for his label Latimmier, which aims to expand the boundaries of menswear and amplify the voices of marginalized communities. Latimer is also one of the founding members of Ruskeat Tytöt Media, a platform dedicated to representing people of color in Finnish media and culture. In 2024, he began his role as Professor of Practice at Aalto University.
