Description

The Mum's Vuokko cushion cover is part of the Pipana Natural collection, whose wool cushion covers were inspired by the beauty of Finnish nature and especially the rugged landscapes of Lapland. The name Vuokko translates to "anemone".

The cushion covers in the Pipana Natural collection are designed in collaboration with Finnish artist Jenni Rope and crafted in India by local artisans. Their gentle shades are created with all-natural dyes – the yellowish shades of the Vuokko cushion cover are obtained from weld and larkspur plants. Because of the materials and manufacturing methods, each cushion cover is one of a kind with unique shades and textures that bring a peaceful, natural feel to your home.

Jenni Rope

Jenni Rope (b. 1977) is a Finnish artist, illustrator and publisher. After studying painting and visual arts in Finland and animation production in UK at the London College of Printing, she graduated in Graphic Design at the University of Arts and Design, Helsinki, in 2002.

Jenni Rope runs Napa Books and Gallery. Jenni co-founded the publishing house Napa Books in 1997 and a few years later Napa Gallery was founded. Napa Gallery is a non-profit gallery space managed by a group of young Finnish artists and curators. Napa’s exhibitions change monthly ranging from contemporary illustration and photography to graffiti. The gallery space also hosts the Napa Books shop with a selection of beautiful art books by independent publishers.

Jenni Rope exhibits internationally and she works on many different mediums including drawing, painting, book art, animation and print design. For Marimekko’s Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection Jenni Rope has designed two colourful prints, Tilkku and Luola, which have been used by Finnish designer Noora Niinikoski to decorate the dresses she designed for the collection.

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

15% GST is included in all prices presented on our website.

Private customers: For orders of NZD$1,000 or less, a 15% GST is included in the prices. For orders over NZD$1,000, GST is collected by New Zealand customs and therefore deducted from the total amount. The deduction is visible in the cost breakdown at checkout.
