Description

Montana's Paradigm sofa is a true design classic, returning to production updated to meet the demands of modern living. Originally designed in 1969 by Erik Rasmussen, the sofa was previously known as the Paustian Modular Sofa, but has now been relaunched as Paradigm. This name looks both back to its groundbreaking beginnings and forward to a new era where timelessness, comfort, and versatility merge.

With its geometric and streamlined shape, the Paradigm sofa is designed to adapt to the changing needs of different life stages. Built from modular elements, the sofa fits seamlessly into home living rooms as well as hotel lobbies, offices, and lounge areas. The modules can be combined, separated, and reconfigured to suit any space.

The versatility extends to the materials as well. Paradigm’s upholstered covers are removable and replaceable, the cushions are fire-resistant, and all components are designed for easy maintenance. This modular construction makes Paradigm a durable and long-lasting companion. It's a sofa created to develop and evolve with you, year after year after year.

  • Notes Paradigm modules are equipped with connectors, allowing for easy assembly and secure placement. They can also be effortlessly detached for reconfiguration.
  • Care instructions We recommend professional cleaning of the covers. Washing may cause shrinkage and remove the fabric’s stain-resistant properties. Refer to the manufacturer's cleaning instructions for the relevant textile. Cleaning should be done when cover is off the sofa and not when upholstered.

Erik Rasmussen

Erik Rasmussen (1930-1984) was a Danish graphic designer whose work can be found in the collections of the Danish brands Montana Furniture and Paustian. Rasmussen is also responsible for the logo of Paustian, which won him the design award for "Industrial graphics for visual identity" in 1993. Rasmussen's work and expression are characterised by a graphic, almost sculptural, focus on form.

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

15% GST is included in all prices presented on our website.

Private customers: For orders of NZD$1,000 or less, a 15% GST is included in the prices. For orders over NZD$1,000, GST is collected by New Zealand customs and therefore deducted from the total amount. The deduction is visible in the cost breakdown at checkout.

Delivery terms

Orders are shipped on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis. This means that any GST, import duties or other charges assessed by local customs or the carrier must be paid by the recipient in order to release the shipment.
