Description

Normann Copenhagen’s Knit armchair charms with its light silhouette and softly embracing shape. The chair’s name refers to its knit-like, flexible upholstery that follows the contours of the frame smoothly and without wrinkles. Made from recycled polyester, the Kvadrat Myr fabric features a nuanced tone and a three-dimensional texture that invites touch.

Created by Taiwanese designer Yuchen Wu, the Knit chair combines a padded seat with a gently curved backrest, offering a relaxed yet supportive sitting experience – ideal for both dining and unwinding. The subtly angled steel legs lend the chair an airy appearance and solid stability. Crafted with circular design principles in mind, Knit is built for longevity, repairability and recyclability.

Yuchen Wu

Taiwanese designer Yuchen Wu worked in a design agency in Taiwan after completing her studies, where she was exposed to a variety of design projects, ultimately finding her passion for designing furniture and accessories. Yuchen made the decision to investigate the sector internationally in an effort to gather expertise and eventually found herself in Denmark working as an in-house designer at Normann Copenhagen.

A big source of inspiration for Yuchen's creative work is her childhood in Taiwan's lovely countryside, which is surrounded by stunning natural features including the sea and mountains. Achieving a healthy balance between aesthetics and usefulness is at the heart of Yuchen's design philosophy. Her goal is to produce designs that are both functional for daily usage and infused with beauty and poetry. Furthermore, Yuchen places a high priority on sustainability in her design work.
