The Moomin ABC mugs are decorated with adorable initials featuring various Moomin characters. In the illustration of the "D" mug, spring has arrived in Moominvalley – along with our favourite nomad, Snufkin. On the other side of the mug, Moomintroll is rushing to meet his friend after a long winter, closely followed by Little My.
The D mug is part of the “Reading, writing and the Moomins” initiative that promotes the importance of literacy and the joys of reading. The mugs' Moomin alphabet is based on Tove Jansson’s hand-drawn initial capitals and lettering created for the book The Memoirs of Moominpappa as well as her maps of Moominvalley. The mugs' form is familiar from the Iittala Teema series, but in contrast to most Moomin mugs, the ABC mugs’ size is larger: 4 dl.
