Grace Outdoor lounge chair, natural - Plutarco 221
Description
GUBI’s Grace Outdoor lounge chair is an outdoor-friendly version of the beloved design by Tove Kindt-Larsen. For the lounge chair’s details, Kindt-Larsen drew inspiration from natural shapes formed by the elements, such as pebbles and pieces of driftwood she used to collect from the sandy shores of the north coast of Denmark. The Grace chair was originally designed by Kindt-Larsen as early as 1936 but did not end up in production until 2021 when the chair's sketches were found in Kindt-Larsen's archives. The Grace Outdoor lounge chair was added to GUBI’s collection in 2025, bringing timeless elegance to open-air spaces.
The Grace Outdoor lounge chair features a powder-coated aluminium frame, making it an excellent choice for varying weather conditions as the material is durable enough to withstand both scorching sun and heavy rain. For added comfort, the chair includes a loose, foam-filled back cushion that can be adjusted to suit your preferred seating position. The elegant yet relaxed and inviting Grace lounge chair makes for a refined addition to any outdoor space from balconies to gardens and terraces alike.

Tove Kindt-Larsen (1906–1994) was a Danish architect and designer known as one of the first female designers in the golden age of Danish design. The most well-known pieces of furniture she designed include the Grace chair from 1936 and the Swing chair from the following year. The rattan chairs are a great example of both Kindt-Larsen's signature style, drawing from natural forms, as well as her pioneering work on rattan and plywood furniture.
Tove Kindt-Larsen studied architecture and furniture design at the Royal Danish Academy of Arts in Copenhagen. In 1937, she married Edvard Kindt-Larsen (1901–1982) – she is perhaps best known for her collaboration with her husband and the couple’s joint design office, founded in 1945. The best-known furniture by the Kindt-Larsens include the Kamin and Pagaj chairs from 1939 and 1960, respectively, and the Pagoda and Prisma sofas from 1956 and 1964, respectively.
