F-Chair Outdoor lounge chair, natural - teak
Description
GUBI’s F-Chair Outdoor is characterised by a robust construction and a simple yet strong expression. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, the lounge chair is made of teak wood and high-density polyethylene wicker, which resembles water hyacinth or paper yarn in appearance but can handle any weather. The natural teak frame will develop a distinguished silvery grey patina over time, use and exposure to the elements.
F-Chair Outdoor is based on Marcel Gascoin's classic C-Chair from 1947, which was born out of sheer necessity in post-war France when new, smaller homes were built to replace those damaged in the war, and new furniture was needed to fit into those homes. Compared to its predecessor, the F-Chair is wider and more relaxed with a lower seat for a leisurely feel, but just as easily adaptable into a variety of interiors from private homes to public spaces. The durable outdoor materials add even more possibilities for its use and make it a gorgeous addition to any balcony, patio or outdoor terrace.

Driven by his social conscience and aptitude for combining clean-lined aesthetics with rational manufacturing processes, Gascoin played an important role in the reconstruction of the country. During the post-war housing crisis, Gascoin was employed by the French Ministry of Reconstruction and Urbanism to design homes and elegant yet functional furniture, many of which have since become sought-after design classics.
