Klaus Haapaniemi’s Les Chats cushion cover collection depicts his cat Putte and its feline friends Monster, Ryder and Norma from East London. The front side of each cushion cover features a print of a charming cat character accompanied by detailed exotic fruit and flowers. The mesmerizing botanical motifs also adorn the backside plus form a beautiful ornamental frame around the felines. The Les Chats cushion covers are made of cotton and linen mix and make lovely, eye-catching additions to any sofa, bed and armchair.
Illustrator and designer Klaus Haapaniemi has collaborated with designer Mia Wallenius to create a unique range of home and fashion textiles inspired by the Nordic nature and Finnish folklore. The beautiful patterns follow traditional decorative arts but their style and approach are modern. The finest natural materials combined with detailed patterns create a truly luxurious collection.

Klaus Haapaniemi (b. 1970) is one of Finland’s most internationally acclaimed illustrators and designers. His distinctive style blends themes drawn from Nordic nature, folklore and mythology with a luxurious and modern aesthetic. A graduate of the Lahti Institute of Design, Haapaniemi has created prints for brands like Diesel, Levi’s and Dolce & Gabbana, and illustrated the beloved Iittala tableware series Taika and Satumetsä. Haapaniemi was named Finland’s Designer of the Year in 2008 and was awarded the Finnish State Prize for Design in 2018.
In 2010, Haapaniemi founded his own brand, Klaus Haapaniemi Co., together with his spouse Mia Wallenius. The collection features a range of high-quality textiles and decor items, such as decorative cushions and wallpapers. Having lived in London for many years, the designer now divides his time between Berlin, Germany, and Tampere, Finland.

It’s good quality and the designs look fantastic. The zipper is also neatly tucked away; you can barely see it at all. I would recommend getting a 22’x22’ cushion insert for it.

I love the pattern however thought the material was going to be silk and embroidered. Perhaps then the price may have been 500.00 canadian. I love the cushion cover and have had my eye on this line of covers for ever!
