Description
The Artek 90 Anniversary poster celebrates a landmark moment in the history of Finnish design. Anniversary posters have long been a tradition for Artek, marking significant moments with collectable artworks. Often these limited-edition pieces showcase artists' unique interpretations of Artek’s iconic furniture and design elements. This time is no exception: to honour Artek’s 90th anniversary, Finnish graphic artist and visual artist Inka Bell has reimagined the familiar shapes of the iconic Aalto Screen 100.
In Bell’s original artwork, the characteristic slatted patterns appear through layered black and blue ink, which has then been partially removed using laser engraving. From a distance, the surface appears as a smooth gradient, but a closer look reveals a hidden detail: pixel-like disruptions, reminiscent of digital glitches adding depth and rhythm to the composition. The result is a geometric poster that is both dynamic and serene, much like Artek itself – constantly evolving yet always timeless. The Artek 90 Anniversary poster continues the brand’s legacy of bringing together design history and artistic experimentation, offering collectors and design enthusiasts a unique piece of Finnish design heritage.
