What’s new: Eames House Bird
Vitra's wooden birds are here to perch, play, and make your living room much chirpier.
GAZE SKYWARD and prepare to be enchanted! A fascinating flock of birds has just arrived, shining in stunning shades of pale pink and gorgeous dark green. If these creatures seem oddly familiar, there's a good reason for it – they are a rare breed of the beloved Eames House Bird, designed by the duo Charles and Ray Eames.
The pale pink Eames House Bird is Vitra's special edition of the Eames' classic bird figurine.
The wooden bird is also available in a stylish shade of dark green.
The very first Eames House Bird was black in color.
The very first Eames House Bird hatched from its egg wearing black. The original wooden bird was a piece of folk art from the Appalachian Mountains, which the couple Eames found on their journeys. Since then, the bird has been one of the most beloved decorative objects in the house of Charles and Ray Eames. The bird can be seen in many photos of the famous designer couple, and it even made its way to a commercial poster of Eames chairs!
