Warm textures, gentle rituals, and a home shaped by thoughtful details – Welcome to set the holiday table with Celia Solf
Celia Solf’s festive table comes to life through layers of natural materials and the gentle warmth created by small, considered details.
IN THE PROVINCE OF BOLZANO, surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites, creative director Celia Solf has made a home where hospitality and design naturally intertwine.
With a background in design, fashion, and creating spaces with a deep connection to her surroundings, she brings the same thoughtful intuition to her family’s space as she does to her own way of creating.
Inside these walls, you'll find a home shaped by genuine warmth and a welcoming spirit.
There lives Celia with her husband and their son, who was born just before Christmas – making the season even more special.
Born and raised in Munich, Germany, Celia found a new rhythm when she moved to Italy: a slower, more grounded chapter centred on family and home. The act of hosting, once defined by large gatherings and elaborate dinners, has softened into something more intimate.
“Since our son was born, the way I host has naturally changed,” she shares. “I don’t throw big dinner parties like I used to, but we cook and eat together at home a lot. There’s nothing better than preparing food from the farm, with our son playing on the floor beside us, and sharing those quiet, joyful moments around the table.”
Moving to Italy brought a slower, more grounded rhythm to Celia’s life. The nutcracker seen in the foreground is from Ferm Living’s Cairn collection.
She still loves spending time in the kitchen, but these days she cooks with ingredients from the farm and watches their son play on the floor instead of hosting big gatherings.
“There’s nothing better than sharing quiet, joyful moments around the table.”
Celia’s festive table is warm and inviting, brought to life with natural textures and considered details like Ferm Living's Newel candleholder.
“The spirit of hospitality is about creating a space where people feel comfortable and cared for,” she says.
Years in hospitality have shaped Celia’s instinct for creating atmosphere, something she sees as an expression of care rather than display. Her inspiration travels easily between cultures: the generosity of Italian gatherings, the balance and ritual of traditional Japanese meals. What unites them is the feeling of belonging they create, a value she carries into both her work and her home.
Her festive table reflects this same philosophy: warm, layered, and inviting. She chooses heavier materials like velvet, wool, and linen, letting texture and tone evoke comfort rather than excess. For her, beauty lies in honesty and intention – deep red and green hues, natural materials, and attention to detail that make guests feel seen.
Scent of pine recalls the calm, nostalgic spirit of the season. The Christmas tree is decorated with the brass star and wing angels.
Celia enjoys creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for others. The Newel candleholder is crafted from beautifully nuanced light travertine.
The holidays are rooted in memory and scent: pine branches, cedarwood, and the sweetness of something baking in the oven. These familiar notes recall Celia's childhood in Munich, where her mother and grandmother passed down decorating traditions that gave each season its rhythm.
“Now that I have my own family and home, it feels so special to finally create that atmosphere for someone else,” she says. “I love decorating and making things beautiful for others, and I have a feeling I’ll enjoy it even more with each passing year.”
Tiny gifts tuck neatly into the Vari Christmas stocking.
Celia's approach to decoration has evolved alongside motherhood. With her son’s second birthday falling just before Christmas, the season holds even greater meaning.
Last year, the tree was dressed only in felt and jute ornaments to keep curious hands safe. This year, she plans a table filled with color and details: pomegranates scattered across the surface and a real nutcracker at the centre of it all. In these gentle traditions, the season finds its meaning. Not in grandeur, but in small, shared moments.
