Sedia 1 is a self-assembly chair designed by the Italian designer Enzo Mari. Sedia 1 was designed in 1974 and is the first object belonging to the famous project “Autoprogettazione”, whose idea was to design furniture with simple materials. In line with the original idea of the project, customers will purchase a set of precut pinewood boards, nails and instructions for the chair. Sedia 1 is a typical product by Enzo Mari, who has become famous not only as a designer, but also as a thinker and a provocateur. Enzo Mari's belief is that the final result should always be a product both functional and beautiful. During his career Enzo Mari has developed over 2000 design projects, among which the “16 Animali” puzzle for Danese, the “Sof Sof” chair for Driade, the "Box" chair for Castelli and the “Smith & Smith” kitchen tools for Zani & Zani.
