What’s new: HAY’s Palissade Cantilever
HAY’s Palissade Cantilever terrace chairs invite you to enjoy summer days outdoors in the garden.
IS THERE A BETTER WAY to welcome summer than by relaxing on brand-new outdoor furniture? The Palissade Cantilever collection, our newest arrival, reimagines HAY’s beloved Palissade series with a fresh, modern twist.
The new Palissade Cantilever collection stays true to the design language of the original outdoor furniture designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec.
The chair still features the same familiar, curved steel frame, but the rear metal support has now been removed.
The steel-tube frame also serves a practical purpose: in rainy weather, water simply drains straight through the furniture.
The Palissade collection is instantly recognisable to anyone who has ever enjoyed spending time outdoors.
The collection’s graphic design is created by steel tubes and slats that do more than just look good: the open structure lets rainwater drain away, keeping the seats clear and ready to use after the rain stops.
Parks, yards, and gardens are a natural habitat for the Palissade Cantilever seating.
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec spent two years perfecting the collection, and it shows.
Today, Palissade outdoor furniture can be found everywhere from private gardens to restaurant terraces and public parks.
The different Palissade pieces pair beautifully together, too. Here, the Palissade Cantilever chairs are complemented by last spring’s newcomer, the Palissade Cord benches.
The chairs’ timeless look also pairs beautifully with HAY’s other new outdoor furniture. The Deville garden table is designed by French designer Julien Renault.
The Palissade Cantilever chairs retain the collection’s recognisable, gently curved frame, but with the rear metal support now removed.
The updated design gives the chair a lighter, more airy appearance while also adding flexibility and comfort to the seating experience. The result is a lightweight, comfortable, and timeless outdoor chair that feels at home in various outdoor spaces and across many different summer days.
The lightweight look of the Palissade Cantilever chairs makes them a great fit for smaller terraces or balconies, where the original Palissade chairs may have felt a little too sturdy.
