Introducing: Tameko

Tameko’s Rue placemat and Dale tablecloth are made from Oeko-Tex certified European linen.

Meet Tameko, a new home textile brand whose first collection is an ode to natural, raw textures and tranquil tones. As a Finnish Design Shop customer, you can embrace the linen and cotton textiles designed by Space Copenhagen before anyone else. Over the next few months, Tameko’s products will be available exclusively through our online store!

LET US INTRODUCE a brand-new name in home textiles: Tameko. The name might not ring a bell to you yet, and no wonder – this Danish newcomer is making its debut not just at Finnish Design Shop but in the entire world of design.

At Finnish Design Shop, we are delighted to have the honor of introducing Tameko’s debut collection to the world. For the next three months, Tameko products will be available exclusively in our online store.

Now is the perfect time to pick up new linen tablecloths for your summer festivities or to rejuvenate your bedroom with light, breezy bedding!

The relaxed crinkles are part of the natural charm of the Merrow tablecloth, though you can always iron it for a more refined look at upscale gatherings.

Light as a breath, the Merrow linen napkins are finished with neatly tailored edges.

Tameko’s designs marry a contemporary feel with classic elements. The monochrome home textiles will retain their timeless character for decades to come.

Tameko is the brainchild of two seasoned Danish design experts, Dominika Leveau and Chim Sonne-Schmidt, also known for their work with massimo copenhagen. They have been quietly perfecting their brand for several years already.

Tameko’s lineup includes luxurious bedding, elegant table linens, and sophisticated interior textiles, all reflecting a deep appreciation for tactile materials and Scandinavian aesthetics. The debut collection was designed by the award-winning studio Space Copenhagen.

Merging nostalgia with modernity, the raw with the refined, and simplicity with a keen attention to detail.

The founders of Space Copenhagen, Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, who started their journey in 2005, describe their approach to design as ‘poetic minimalism’. They strive to create harmony by balancing contrasting elements, which in Tameko’s collection translates to merging nostalgia with modernity, the raw with the refined, and simplicity with a keen attention to detail.

Tameko's debut collection was designed by Space Copenhagen, founded by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou.

Tameko’s textiles, such as decorative cushions and curtains, are crafted in the renowned textile city of Karur, India.

The gentle tones and textures of linen and cotton cushions blend seamlessly together.

Tameko’s debut collection shies away from flashy patterns and bright colors, instead giving precedence to the natural qualities of the materials. The monochrome table linens, bedding, and cushions showcase the effortless crinkles of linen and the soft, smooth fibers of cotton.

The palette is painted in earthy shades of brown, gray, and white, whose timeless nature makes them suitable for any occasion and season.

The rust-brown Dale bedspread adds the perfect finishing touch to a linen-dressed bed.

Linen bedding from the Merrow collectionbrings a refreshing feel of summer breeze to the bedroom.

Tameko’s duvet covers and pillowcases are available in various sizes. The Cove duvet cover is made from stone-washed cotton.

Tameko’s fabrics are treated with reactive dyes that penetrate deep into the fibers, ensuring the colors do not fade but retain their vibrancy even after repeated washings.

The products are certified by the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, which means that they are free from harmful chemicals, such as pesticides, heavy metals, or formaldehyde residues.

Made using linen sourced from Europe, the textiles are crafted in Karur, India, a city with a centuries-long history of producing woven fabrics and textile products.
