A splash of vibrant blue adds a much-needed boost to an otherwise neutral palette.

Unexpected combinations

Can Finnish design classics from different eras be paired with a modern Spanish rug, a colorful Italian lamp, and sleek Carrara marble? The showroom’s styled ensemble proves they absolutely can, and with striking success.

The Artek 550 daybed, the Experiment 502 lounge chair designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro and now part of Hem’s collection, and the Tres Vegetal rug by Nanimarquina all come together through a shared, harmonious color palette. As a contrasting pop of color, the base of the iconic Snoopy lamp by Flos connects beautifully with the Carrara marble tabletops. Carefully chosen accessories and throw pillows complete the look, tying the entire scene together with thoughtful precision.

Timeless and versatile, the SN flower pots by Arabia and Artek’s drop-leaf tables have made a welcome return.

Beloved and long-awaited

The SN flower pots designed by Richard Lindh have long been coveted treasures, often hunted down at flea markets and vintage shops. Now, the iconic series is finally back in production. The secret behind its popularity might lie not only in its elegant form but also in its plant-friendly function: the glazed finish and drainage hole help maintain the ideal moisture level between waterings.

Artek’s drop-leaf table is a perfect fit for smaller rooms or a cozy kitchen breakfast nook.

Thanks to its compact size, Artek’s DL81C drop-leaf table fits perfectly in smaller rooms or as a breakfast nook in the kitchen. When extra surface area is needed, the extension leaf lifts up effortlessly. This playful two-tone special edition mimics the effect of sunlight: one section of the tabletop appears slightly faded, as if softly lightened by time.

The oversized Lampampe lamp is a striking yet understated statement piece, perfectly in tune with today’s paper lighting trend.

Delightfully over-the-top

When you’re looking to add an element of surprise or drama to your interior, it doesn’t always have to come from bold patterns, vibrant colors, or unusual shapes. Sometimes, scale alone does the trick. Ingo Maurer’s Lampampe is a prime example. Its striking presence comes from its oversized, cloud-like form, which takes shape only as the paper base gently crumples during assembly.

This eye-catching lamp truly shines when surrounded by more understated pieces. At the showroom, Lampampe is beautifully paired with Nikari’s sculptural Edi dining table, accompanied by the finely crafted Linea RMT3 chairs.

Soft textures and rounded shapes make any home feel more inviting.

Graceful curves and grounding materials

Angular pieces – like bookcases, for instance – often benefit from softer, rounder forms to create a harmonious balance in a room. The natural white Ribbon wool rug by Woven Works delights with its gentle arc pattern, bringing a sense of movement and warmth. That same elegant curve is echoed in Ingo Maurer’s sculptural Yoruba Rose lamp, which feels more like a work of art than a mere light fixture.

Another iconic piece that celebrates soft, flowing lines is the Lounge Chair by Charles and Ray Eames, produced by Vitra. Now available with fabric upholstery, this beloved classic has taken on a cozier, more relaxed look. If the leather version ever felt a bit too formal, the textile finish adds a grounded, homey touch.

Designed by top names in the field, these pieces are beautifully crafted down to the last detail.

Award-winning and refined

Dezeen magazine named Jonas Forsman’s Faneeri folding chair for Nikari the best design project and seating product of 2024. Crafted from oak, the chair is lightweight and folds down to a compact size when not in use. When unfolded, it offers a surprisingly sturdy and comfortable seat, one you might not even recognize as a folding chair at first glance.

The Frame Low coffee table, also designed for Nikari, is the work of minimalist master and British architect John Pawson. The table continues a series that began with a dining table Pawson created for his own countryside home. With its pared-back silhouette, thoughtful detailing, and solid presence, this piece is built to age beautifully, retaining its charm for decades to come.

Marimekko Pokaali vase

A cheerful bouquet in a beautiful vase may be all it takes to refresh your home for spring.

Setting the mood for spring

This spring, it’s all about going bold. Bouquets are at their best when they’re colorful, abundant, and full of personality. Fresh flowers are perhaps the easiest way to shift the atmosphere at home, bringing in the colors and energy of the season. Single stems or small arrangements can be placed in miniature vases throughout the house, even in the entryway to greet you as you arrive.

Marimekko’s new Pokaali vase, designed by Carina Seth Andersson, commands attention at the table with its sculptural shape and cheerful orange hue, brightening up the space even without flowers. The mirrored Into vase, created by design duo Morten & Jonas for Northern, blends subtly into its surroundings while allowing the blooms to take center stage.

Interior designer Riikka Soini-Ferraguto, who works at Finnish Design Shop’s showroom, values functional and beautiful design and strives to make long-lasting choices. Natural materials and vintage finds bring softness and character to the space.
