Limit lounge chair, Remix 133
Description
The Limit lounge chair is Normann Copenhagen's reissue of a piece designed in 1974 by Danish-Canadian designer Niels Bendtsen. Originally known as Ribbon, the lounge chair was born during the 1970s oil crisis, when material shortages shaped its pared-back design. When it was reissued in 2026, it was given a new name, Limit, a nod to that very scarcity. True to that simplicity, the Limit's frame is a slender steel structure with a padded fabric seat stretched across it. Thanks to its ingenious and material-efficient design, the original Ribbon chair also holds a place in the permanent collection of MoMA in New York.
Normann Copenhagen's Limit collection includes lounge chairs suited to both indoor and outdoor use, an outdoor cover, and a connector that lets chairs be linked together to create seating groups of various sizes, indoors or out. The Limit lounge chair feels equally at home in a reading corner, a hotel lobby or out on the terrace. Despite its name, there's no limit to how comfortable it feels, especially with a warm cup of coffee or a good book for company.
