Lokal Helsinki's Kori basket looks a little bit like a modern version of a traditional Finnish woven birch basket, originally used for carrying wood. With this basket, you can carry much more than just logs to the fireplace: the rattan basket is the perfect companion for springtime market trips, summer picnics and autumn mushroom picking. Designed by Kari Hannola, the Kori basket is also ideal for storing hats, scarves and other accessories in the hallway or bedroom. Rattan baskets are made by blind handcrafters in Helsinki – unique, natural variations of the handcrafting are left visible on the basket, only highlighting its personal and beautiful appearance.
Hand-crafted in Finland, the Kori basket is part of the Lokal Kollektion series by the Helsinki-based gallery Lokal. The collection consists of unique, locally-manufactured products made in small-scale production, many even by hand in the designers' own workshops.
