Description
The Jack Object takes the shape of Tom Dixon's much-loved Jack lamp and shrinks it into a hand-carved marble miniature. The paperweight might be small in size, but there's real heft to it, enough to keep a stack of papers exactly where you left them. Just as often, though, you'll want it simply for the look of it, on a bookshelf, a desk, or a hallway table. No two are quite alike either, since the green marble runs its own veins and shades through every piece.
Jack first appeared in 1994 from Tom Dixon's earliest experiments with plastic. The experiment paid off: the Jack lamp went on to win awards and now sits in the collections of London's Victoria and Albert Museum. The Jack Object brings that familiar silhouette down to desk scale, in a material its creator never originally imagined for it.
