Description

FDB Møbler’s J48 chair is a 1951 classic designed by Poul M. Volther. Created during the golden era of Danish design, the chair is defined by its gently curved backrest, formed from three separate elements. Its construction echoes another Volther icon – the Corona lounge chair, recognisable by its four distinct cushions.

With its oak frame and seat upholstered in elegant semianiline leather, the J48 chair pairs beautifully with a wide range of dining tables and fits effortlessly into other rooms throughout the home.

Poul M. Volther

Poul M. Volther (1923-2001) was a Danish designer, who was a member of the FDB cooperative, whose aim was to create affordable furniture for everyday use. 

Volther was a trained cabinetmaker and studied later at the Arts and Crafts School in Copenhagen. As a believer in functionalism, he avoided short-lived aesthetic styles and concentrated on simple manufacture of fine materials. His best known work is the Corona chair he designed in 1961. Still today around 3000 Corona chairs are sold annually.

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

We offer free shipping on small items for orders over
150 €.

For large items, free shipping applies to orders over 3000 €.

“Small item” refers to parcels under 80 cm in length or weighing less than 25 kg. Larger or heavier shipments are classified as “Large item deliveries” (see below).

Please note that the free shipping thresholds stated above may not apply in certain cases. In such situations, any applicable shipping fees will be clearly displayed at checkout.

Large item delivery charge range from 29 € to 149 €  and is automatically calculated and displayed on the product page and at checkout. The exact cost is confirmed once your delivery address has been entered.

Large item delivery charges apply to any single parcel with a side longer than 80 cm or weighing more than 25 kg.

Please note that exceptions to these fees may apply to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of large or delicate items. In such cases, the final delivery cost will be displayed at checkout.

  • Level 2: Free shipping for orders over 129 €
  • Level 3–4: Free shipping for orders over 99 €

Exclusions apply: For large item deliveries, an additional surcharge is applied based on your location and the size and weight of your shipment.
