About A Chair AAC23 by HAY combines a sleek oak frame with a streamlined, leather-upholstered polypropylene shell. A result of close collaboration between designer Hee Welling and HAY, About A Chair is a collection of outstanding simplicity and combinability.
With the About A Chair collection, Welling wanted to reach a new level in the combination of shape, function, comfort, detail, and esthetic. The idea behind the collection was to develop a chair that works well around the dining table, around a conference table, as well as in a restaurant, cafeteria or at the office. Due to their simple and plain design, the chairs can be combined with various types of furniture and interiors.
In 2021, HAY renewed the surface treatments of its wood furniture by replacing their paints and lacquers with more environmentally friendly, water-based alternatives. This chair is of newer production and has been finished with a water-based lacquer.
