The Danish designer Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt (b.1967) graduated from the Danish School of Design in 1994. In the beginning of her career she was mainly working with unique ceramic pieces, but has, later on, turned to wood and lasercut plexi-glass. Fonnesberg Schmidt’s work is characterized by simple, geometrical forms.

An absolutely beautiful piece. It is gorgeous both lit and unlit. When unlit, it is a warm piece of art, and when let it creates art with the shadows that it leaves on the ceilings and walls. Be prepared for a somewhat difficult process to assemble the light, but once done, the reward is definitely worth the trouble.

Antaisin 0 pistettä jos voisin. Odottaisin, että tämän hintaluokan design-valaisin toimitettaisiin kotiin valmiiksi koottuna. Yllätyin siitä, että yli 200 euron valaisin täytyy koota puupalikoista itse alusta saakka. Ei siinä mitään, ohjeet olivat kyllä hyvät ja kokoaminen onnistui, mutta vanerin raot oli leikattu osin liian väljiksi, ja valaisimen osia alkoi putoilla itsekseen paikoiltaan. En todellakaan odottanut tällaista laatua designvalaisimelta. Liimasin tuntikausia vanerinpaloja toisiinsa Erikeeperillä ja siitä huolimatta ainakin yksi kohdistusmerkki jäi näkyviin osien löysyyden vuoksi. Lisäksi ei voinut välttyä siltä, että liimajälkiä jäi näkyviin. Miten ihmeessä voitte myydä asiakkaille tällaista tuotetta? Onko kukaan myyjistä kasannut valaisinta ja todennut sen huonoksi suunnitteluksi? Teidän olisi hyvä mainita, että valaisin täytyy koota osa kerrallaan (kuten muutaman kympin Ikean valaisimet), lisäksi olisi hyvä mainita että kokoamisessa tulee käyttää apuna liimaa (ilman liimaa valaisin ei yksinkertaisesti kestä omaa painoaan). Olisi myös hyvä jos voisi valita johdon pituuden niin, että pituus olisi mitoitettu niin että ylimääräinen johto sopii piiloon. Nyt johtoa oli aivan liikaa normaaliin huonekorkeuteen nähden eikä ylimääräinen johto sovi millään piiloon vaan johtoa on lyhennettävä. Asiakkaan on hyvä myös huomioida, ettei valaisin ole yhteensopiva sellaisenaan katossa olevaan pistokepaikkaan, vaan pistokepaikka on purettava katosta, jotta johdot saa kiinnitettyä tähän tuotteeseen. Valaisin on kieltämättä kaunis, nyt kun sen on saanut pysymään liiman avulla suunnilleen kasassa ja kun sähkömies on käynyt tekemässä tarvittavat toimenpiteet valaisimen asennusta varten, mutta tuote ei todellakaan vastaa hinnaltaan laatua. Luulisi, että kaupalla olisi vaativampi laatutaso. Tuotteen reklamoinnin ja hinnan alennuspyynnin yhteydessä minua pyydettiin vain purkamaan valaisin ja palauttamaan se alkuperäisessä tai vastaavassa pakkauksessa. Tämähän ei ole mahdollista, koska osat on liimattu toisiinsa.
