The Arbour Eco sofa by HAY is the result of a collaboration between Andreas Engesvik and Daniel Rybakken. The sofa’s clear and streamlined design follows the ideals of Nordic design, with the frame left exposed, giving the sofa an architectural look and creating a contrast to the plush cushions. Unlike with most sofas, the cushions resting against the armrests are the same size as the backrest cushions, so that it is easier to lounge on the sofa just the way you prefer.
In keeping with the Scandinavian design tradition, the Norwegian designers opted for honest, high-quality materials: the sofa frame is made of sustainable wood, and the cushions are filled with Oeko-Tex certified foam and upholstered in eco-labelled textiles. If, over the years, one of the parts needs to be renewed, it is possible to repair or change it separately without having to replace the entire sofa. Thanks to the ecological design, the sofa has been awarded the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
