Ingo Maurer's Babadul floor lamp fills the room with soft light and a delicate atmosphere. Designed in 2017 by the well-known German lighting designer Ingo Maurer in collaboration with his team, Babadul is both a functional floor lamp and a sculptural light object – a striking presence in both private interiors and public spaces.
The lampshade resembles a large, abstract flower petal held aloft by a slender metal stem. The gently curved and ethereal shade is made from Japanese paper that undergoes multiple treatments during the production process to achieve its perfectly airy and durable form. The Babadul lamp is equipped with an integrated, dimmable LED light source that emits an exceptionally warm glow, reminiscent of traditional halogen bulbs. Therefore the floor lamp is ideal for creating a serene and atmospheric setting in living rooms, bedrooms or anywhere a touch of poetic light is needed.
