Ida cushion, 50 x 50 cm, red shades
Description
Røros Tweed's Ida cushion, designed by Anderssen & Voll, features a colourful, chequered pattern inspired by patchwork and handmade tapestries. The designers, Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll, created the pattern by making a full-scale model with pieces of coloured paper – so instead of digital design or drawing, it was designed literally by hand. To honour the design process, traces of the human hand, like small imperfections and irregularities, were preserved in the final product.
Røros Tweed's high-quality home textiles are made in Norway from 100% lambswool, shorn from sheep living free in the mountains.

Anderssen & Voll has collaborated with a wide range of clients, including Muuto, &Tradition and Audo Copenhagen. The duo’s work has been recognised with numerous awards, both in Norway and internationally.
Anderssen & Voll – at the heart of Norwegian design
The design studio Anderssen & Voll was founded in 2009, when Torbjørn Anderssen (b. 1976) and Espen Voll (b. 1965), the founders of the Oslo-based design company Norway Says, decided to start a new chapter together. Established in 2000, Norway Says played a key role in bringing Norwegian design to international attention.
The duo share a similar background, having both studied at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and the Bergen Academy of Art and Design, where Anderssen now works as a professor. They are equally aligned in their ambitions: Anderssen & Voll strive to design and create products that stand the test of time, both functionally and aesthetically.
Dialogue and creative friction
At the core of Anderssen & Voll’s design philosophy lies a continuous dialogue between two strong perspectives. The designers have described their collaboration as a process of challenging one another – disagreements and friction are not obstacles, but an essential part of the creative process. This tension is also reflected in the final result: the design is thoughtful, yet never predictable.
Product design and interior architecture
Anderssen & Voll’s portfolio includes furniture, lighting, home accessories and textiles, as well as interior and exhibition projects. The studio has designed interiors for restaurants, trade fair stands and the headquarters of Norwegian brand Nedre Foss, for whom they have also created several products.
Throughout their career, Anderssen & Voll have received numerous international design awards, including the Wallpaper* Design Award, Red Dot Award and iF Design Award, and have been named Designers of the Year in Norway and Scandinavia.
