Pastoraali pitcher, 0,35 L
Description
Arabia’s Pastoraali pitcher is adorned with an organic pattern by Esteri Tomula. The small pitcher can be used as a milk jug when serving coffee or as a gravy boat at the dinner table, for example.
The Pastoraali pattern was originally designed in 1965. Featuring human characters among flowers, leaves and birds, the pattern was given a deep shade of blue since the new silk screen-printing technique allowed the use of bright colours. The rich pastoral landscapes have been printed on white, clean-lined ceramic tableware.

Tomula was particularly known for abundantly decorated, expertly drawn designs often based on the natural world. During her long and productive career, Tomula designed many beloved decorations, including the ones adorning the Vegeta enamel pots by Finel and the Botanica wall plates by Arabia.

I'm slowly collecting all the items in the Pastoraali line. The pattern is reminiscent of those when I was a young kid. The pieces are very strong and sturdy, and the glaze is very high quality. I've enjoyed all of these pieces for a number of years now. You can keep them because they look cool, or use them every day, they're equally good. The pitcher is a great size for milk at breakfast coffee!
