Ingo Maurer’s Maru is a classic pendant lamp designed in 1980, playing beautifully with rhythm, form, movement and colour. At the heart of the design is the circle – fittingly, “maru” means “circle” in Japanese. Made from delicate Japanese paper, the shade diffuses light softly, creating a near-hypnotic atmosphere where light and shade seem to whisper to each other. The Maru pendant is a striking choice for spaces that call for both ambience and artistry: picture it above a dining table, in the living room or suspended in a sleek modern lobby.
