DCWéditions’ Chaumont pendant lamp is a classic of French design, originally created by architect-designer Marc Held for his own Paris home in the 1960s. Made from cylindrical steel elements, the lamp reflects Held’s architectural background – its clean geometry and carefully considered proportions lend a refined balance to spaces of all sizes and styles.
The Chaumont pendant light directs its glow downward, offering glare-free illumination that can be subtly adjusted by changing the depth of the light bulb. The compact luminaire works just as well as a single mood-setter as it does in a group of several lamps, whether above a dining table, kitchen island, or in an open hallway. The collection’s colour options also mix beautifully with one another.

Marc Held is a French designer and architect who worked in Paris for many years and has since settled in Greece. With a diverse career behind him, Held has designed everything from teaspoons to cars, and ski suits to entire buildings.
These days, he prefers to take on projects that allow for a truly holistic approach – ideally designing the architecture, interiors and furnishings all at once, much like the great 20th-century architects such as Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, Alvar Aalto and Arne Jacobsen.
