Mikado side chair boasts soft, harmonious shapes that bring a sense of peace, making the chair the perfect addition for home kitchens and dining rooms.

Finnish Design Shop’s online store is once again bursting with fresh arrivals. This time, we're treating design enthusiasts with comfort, versatility, and nostalgia. Check out Design Stories’ curated top five picks of the month and find own must-haves to add to your cart!

Ergonomic and aesthetic

Vitra's Mikado chair combines aesthetics and ergonomics in one elegant design. Designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, the chair is based on the idea that none of us sit frozen in one position – and none of us sit exactly the same way as another! That's why the Mikado side chair's backrest seamlessly adapts to each user's current posture, providing optimal comfort.

With its clean lines and versatility, the Mikado side chair is easy to combine with different tables, but it can also serve as an eye-catcher on its own, for example as a handy additional seat in the living room.

The Crooked Two enhances as a single decorative object but can also be combined with other candlesticks from the Crooked collection.

Get crooked

Normann Copenhagen's sculptural and modern Crooked Two candlestick is a charming addition to any table setting or bookshelf, with or without candles. Designed by Danish fashion influencer Uffe Buchard, the Crooked series draws inspiration from the worlds of design, art, and architecture.

The elegant and timeless cover of Pride and Prejudice is designed by Eeva Sivula.

New life into well-known classics

Aatos Editions is a new Finnish publisher that breathes life into well-known novels, philosophical works, and non-fiction literature that both touch the reader's heart and stimulate their mind. Each book is more than just its content; the aesthetic design of every cover is meticulously crafted.

Aatos Editions' latest release is Jane Austen's timeless classic, Pride and Prejudice. This romance novel dates back to 1813, yet the fates of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy continue to resonate with readers over 200 years later.

The Nostalgi bench conveniently provides additional seating and storage space for the entryway, hallway or bedroom.

Old times style

Essem Design's Nostalgi bench looks like it already belongs to Gunnar Bolin's classic furniture collection from the late 1930s and 1940s, but it wasn't actually part of the original Nostalgi series. The sturdy bench was designed decades later by Roger Persson, who was inspired by Bolin's work. The bench's simple, timeless character evokes the same nostalgic charm as as the shoe racks and coat hooks in the Nostalgi series.

Muuto's Earnest table brings timeless Scandinavian minimalism into your dining space.

Lightweight giant

Muuto's extendable Earnest table measures an impressive 205 x 100 centimeters, yet it still doesn't feel overly bulky. This is thanks to its sculptural design that keeps the dining table looking delightfully light despite its large size.

Designed by John Tree, the dining table gets an even more modern look with the separately sold extensions with wood grain patterns intentionally different from the table's surface. This thoughtful detail makes you want to extend the table, even when dining with a smaller group!
