HAY’s fall 2022 arrivals play with light, color and shapes
The Pastis chair boasts a fascinatingly curved design. The table is the new Passerelle from Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, while the lamp is from Muller Van Severen’s Arcs collection.
1. Pastis chair
Designed by Julien Renault, the Pastis collection is “strong, iconic, with romantic curves” in the designer’s own words. Renault has drawn inspiration for the collection’s chairs and tables from Shaker furniture as well as steam-bent Thonet-Mundus chairs. The collection’s name, in turn, stems from the French anise-flavored spirit often served as an aperitif.
“Pastis is about pétanque and aperitif in summer: I will always associate it with the sentiment of those summer days in Southern France, hanging out with friends and sipping pastis,” Renault has said.

The Parade table light by designer couple Viola Heyn-Johnson and Jonas Trampedach is like a glass sculpture. The poster is Caldo from The Wrong Shop, the sideboard one of HAY's fall newcomers.
2. Parade lamp
One of the Design Stories team’s absolute favorites is the gorgeous glass lamp called Parade. Combining rigid geometry with gentle curves, the lamp is like a little glass sculpture sure to attract attention whether on or off. The lamp is released in three colors and three sizes, making it perfect for creating custom clusters on a windowsill or sideboard. The lamp was designed by designer couple Viola Heyn-Johnson and Jonas Trampedach.

The little shelf at the bottom of the LBM table lamp also serves as a storage and display place for small items.
5. LBM table lamp
The LBM table lamp by Mexican designer Moisés Hernández is a tribute to his compatriot, Mexican architect Luis Barragán Morfín (1902–1988), acclaimed for his skillful and innovative combination of colors, geometry, and light in his work. Inspired by Barragán Morfín, LBM’s light source is placed in the fold of the lamp’s metal sheet so that the light is directed downwards, emphasizing the color of the metal and creating an ambient mood in the space.
