In the spotlight: &Tradition's In Between furniture campaign
The smooth tone of smoked oak is at its best when merged with the airy shapes of the In Between SK1 chair and SK4 table. The cordless Lucca table lamp resembles a traditional paper lantern.
WHEN SHAPE AND SPACE COEXIST, the end result might just be something magical – as is the case with &Tradition's enticingly airy In Between collection. Born in Finland and based in Gothenburg, Sweden, Sami Kallio has excelled in creating furniture that celebrates negative space and meticulously crafted wooden elements in equal measure.
The In Between collection’s name stems from the gaps in the crescent-shaped back and armrest.
Launched in 2014, the In Between series has found its place among &Tradition's cherished classics and contemporary favourites.
Make yourself at home with the In Between SK1 chair. The table setting is perfected with Collect drinking glasses and the Como SC53 portable table lamp, both designed by Space Copenhagen for &Tradition.
Belonging to the array of Danish design brand &Tradition, In Between's story began with a single chair that inspired an entire collection, much to the delight of design lovers worldwide. Its enigmatic name stems from the gaps situated in between the crescent-shaped back and side panels. Carefully crafted to a high standard, the In Between dining chair includes legs and an armrest turned from solid oak, as well as a seat and side panels in formpressed oak veneer.
The strong and characterful In Between SK5 table is crafted using traditional techniques, such as woodturning.
No matter the meal, the furniture envisioned by Sami Kallio is a pleasure to behold and enjoy. Designed by Jaime Hayón, the Formakami JH5 pendant adds to the easy-going atmosphere of shared moments.
Shaped by Verner Panton, the Flowerpot VP3 table lamp offers a sophisticated glimmer in the company of the In Between SK5 table. Sami Kallio and Jakob Thau collaborated on the Betty TK4 bench for &Tradition.
Tables within the product family repeat the shapes of their seat siblings. Constructed with a true appreciation for Scandinavian wood craftsmanship, the In Between dining tables charm with an elegant design, complete with gently sloping, detachable legs. Available as round or rectangular versions, the tables stun as part of any interior, thanks to a selection of sophisticated tones.

Helsinki-born designer, who lives and works in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Graduated from the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg in 2005.
Combines modern, industrial manufacturing methods with traditional, handcrafted techniques.
Received the German Design Award and Design S award, among others.
Also designed the Betty collection for &Tradition, together with Jakob Thau.
