Description
Wästberg’s Alma suspension lamp boasts a fascinating design that entices you to take a closer look or perhaps even touch its wavy matte finish. The luminaire is made of spun aluminum, with its look completed by a silver crown light source.
Alma's design may be subtle and understated, but by no means is it dull. The gently undulating lamp, designed by the Swedish duo Tham & Videgård, is inspired by the world of physics; the sine wave, to be exact. The form could also be interpreted as ripples in the water caused by a pebble thrown in. The wavy surface creates a captivating play of light and shadow even in daylight – Alma is much more than a pendant: it is a work of art that catches the eye even when the light is turned off.

Tham & Videgård is a Swedish design agency run by Swedish architects Bolle Tham (b. 1970) and Martin Videgård (b. 1968). Founded in 1999, the office focuses on innovative solutions, and its experimental approach has brought it numerous accolades both in Sweden and abroad.
