Description
Wästberg's Lampyre t1 table lamp, designed by Inga Sempé, is named after the French word for glow worm. The luminaire is quite classic in shape, but its gist lies in the choice of material: both the lamp's shade and base are made of mouth-blown opaline glass, through which light is filtered softly and pleasantly.
The compact Lampyre t1 is perfect for a windowsill, bedside table or placed on top of a sideboard. It also offers atmospheric lighting for restaurants, cafes or hotels, for example, where it serves as a sculptural accessory even when switched off. Lampyre is perhaps at its best dimmed when the light glows gently both through its shade and base.

Inga Sempé (b. 1968) is a French designer who graduated from ENSCI-Les Ateliers (French National Institute for Advanced Studies in Industrial Design, Paris) in 1993. She has designed furniture, lighting, objects and fabrics for companies such as Cappellini, Luceplan, Ligne Roset, Alessi, Svensk Tenn, Wästberg, HAY and Magis. Sempé's designs have been exhibited extensively across the world, and she has won several international design awards, including the Grand Prix de la Création de la ville de Paris, a design prize awarded by the City of Paris, in 2003 and the Red Dot Design Award in 2007.
