The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art poster features Chaïm Soutine’s 1929 painting Le Grand Arbre à Vence (The Great Tree of Vence) which is a striking example of the Belarusian-born artist’s powerful and distinctive style. The painter followed his own path, largely indifferent to the dominant movements of his time, and developed a uniquely intense approach to painting in which colors glow and forms seem to leap from the canvas with life. The poster was published in connection with Louisiana’s 2024 exhibition dedicated to Soutine’s work.
