Olaf Von Bohr

Olaf von Bohr (1927–2012) was an Austrian designer who was born in Salzburg and studied cabinetmaking at the Blocherer School in Munich before continuing his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. In 1953, he moved to Milan, where he worked at the studios of Ponti, Fornaroli and Rosselli before establishing his own studio in 1960.

Von Bohr worked extensively in furniture, product and lighting design and had a long-standing collaboration with Kartell. In 1979, his Gancio wall hook received an honorable mention at the Compasso d’Oro, and in 1989, the Cavalletto table he designed for Kartell was awarded the Compasso d’Oro.
