Mika Piirainen

Mika Piirainen is a Finnish fashion designer best known for his clothing designs for Marimekko. A graduate of the Lahti Institute of Design, Piirainen began his career at Marimekko in 1994 and, over the years, has created garments for women, men and children, as well as accessories, hats and shoes.

His design style is characterized by clean lines and bold colors, with inspiration often drawn from everyday life – whether it’s a stylish passer-by, travel experiences, time spent in nature or music. In 2010, Piirainen received the Golden Hanger award, an annual recognition presented by Finnish fashion industry professionals.
