Vitra is a Swiss family-owned company founded by Willi and Erika Fehlbaum in 1950. From the very beginning, Vitra’s mission has been to create high-quality, thoughtfully designed and long-lasting furniture for homes, offices and public spaces alike.
In Vitra’s pieces, the creative vision of world-renowned designers meets expert craftsmanship and durable materials – a combination that has made many of its products undisputed design classics. Several of these iconic designs have been in continuous production since the company’s early days.

Vitra is a Swiss family-owned company that has been creating high-quality furniture and interior objects since 1950. Renowned for its timeless design and close collaborations with some of the world’s most celebrated designers, Vitra continues to shape the way we live and work.
At the heart of Vitra’s identity is the Vitra Campus, located in Weil am Rhein on the German–Swiss border. This striking architectural complex showcases Vitra’s collections and design philosophy, offers insight into its history, and hosts rotating art installations and workshops. One of Vitra’s production facilities is also located on the Campus – a remarkable building designed by the Japanese architecture firm SANAA.

Vitra’s portfolio includes both time-honoured classics and contemporary icons – from furniture and accessories to iconic chairs and wall clocks. Over the decades, the brand has worked with a who’s who of design legends: Charles and Ray Eames, Jean Prouvé, Verner Panton, George Nelson and Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, to name a few.
