Description

Marimekko's Siirtolapuutarha Puolikas Kukkaro purse features Maija Louekari’s cheerful design, inspired by the vibrant floral magnificence of summer and tells a story of country life in an urban environment. Since its debut in 2009, this modern classic pattern has brought its lively charm to both textiles and tableware.

Finnish for "half purse", Puolikas Kukkaro is a versatile small pouch, ideal for storing toiletries or small office supplies as well as for keeping other small essentials always within reach. The machine-washable purse features a metallic frame that is easy to snap open. Made from 50% recycled cotton, the Siirtolapuutarha Puolikas Kukkaro purse has been printed in Finland.

Maija Louekari

Finnish print designer Maija Louekari (b. 1982) is well-known especially for the textile prints designed for Marimekko. Louekari has studied at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, and in 2003 she won a design competition organised jointly by her university and Marimekko. She has worked as a freelance designer for Marimekko ever since.

Louekari finds inspiration for her patterns from everyday life and the small things, people and sounds that surround her. Also different environments from urban metropolises to Finnish forests contribute to her work. Most of Louekari’s large, uniform patterns have been hand-drawn, and she also likes to experiment with different techniques such as paper cutting. Among her most important works are the Siirtolapuutarha and Räsymatto patterns, originally designed for Marimekko's Oiva tableware range in 2009.

Shipping & Delivery

If all the items in your order are in stock, your order will be dispatched from our warehouse in Finland within two working days. The estimated delivery time is shown on the product pages and at checkout.

The shipping cost is based on the destination, weight, and volume of the shipment and will be calculated automatically. You will see the exact rate, available shipping options and estimated delivery date at checkout once you have filled in your address details.

Please note that your order will be delivered as one full shipment once all the items are in stock.

9% GST is included in all prices presented on our website.

Private customers: For orders of SG$400 or less, a 9% GST is included in the prices. For orders over SG$400, GST is collected by Singapore customs and therefore deducted from the total amount. The deduction is visible in the cost breakdown at checkout.

Delivery terms

Orders are shipped on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis. This means that any GST, import duties or other charges assessed by local customs or the carrier must be paid by the recipient in order to release the shipment.

Please note that the right to return products does not apply to:

  • Custom-made products which are ordered from the manufacturer according to the customer's wishes.
  • Custom-cut items (including fabrics and replacement webbing).

Please note that returns are subject to a restocking fee, which varies depending on your region and the item being returned. The restocking fee will be deducted from the total refund amount.
