KUKKA flowerpot, cobalt
Description
The KUKKA pot by Finnish brand Pidät is a ceramic flowerpot created by Maija Puoskari, a designer with a background in floristry. KUKKA consists of two elongated containers: the lower one acts as a generously sized saucer to collect excess water, while the upper pot offers room for one or several houseplants or herbs to grow side by side.
Finished with a glazed surface, the KUKKA pot is crafted in a small Portuguese ceramics workshop that has been working with clay since 1979. The name KUKKA means “flower” in Finnish – a fitting tribute to both its purpose and its delicate, nature-inspired design.

Maija Puoskari was born in Tornio, northern Finland, and runs today her own design studio in Kallio, Helsinki. Her work is characterized by a strong sense of pure form mixed with functionality. The clean and wild Finnish nature has been the inspiration behind several of Puoskari’s works: the Terho pendant lights for the Danish brand Mater are a great example.
