Lundia – the timeless classic of Finnish storage furniture
The story of the Finnish brand Lundia began back in the 1940s, when cabinetmaker and inventor Harald Lundqvist grew frustrated that he couldn’t take the built-in shelves of his old flat with him when moving house. His solution was revolutionary: a shelf system that could be taken apart and reassembled as needed. This clever invention opened the door to storage furniture that adapts to any space and lifestyle – and thus, the legendary Lundia open shelf was born.
Since then, Lundia has grown into an icon of Finnish design. Its signature wooden shelves have been joined by a wide selection of high-quality wooden furniture, lighting and interior pieces, all rooted in the same philosophy of timeless, adaptable design.
Lundia: where heritage meets modern design
The most celebrated of Lundia’s creations is, of course, the modular Lundia Classic shelving system, originally conceived by Harald Lundqvist. Today, it comes in a variety of sizes, shades and configurations to suit modern homes. Expanding the collection, you’ll also find the sleek Fuuga storage system, sturdy Lofty beds and versatile lighting solutions.
Lundia works closely with some of Finland’s most respected designers, including Jukka Korpihete, Tapio Anttila, Joanna Laajisto and Reeta Laine, ensuring that each collection combines functionality with a touch of Nordic elegance.
Lundia products are crafted in Finland, mostly from certified, sustainably grown solid pine. Small family-run workshops play a key role in production, where skilled craftsmanship is part of every stage.
