The Soft Edge 80 bar stool from HAY, as its name suggests, features a pleasant, rounded design: the edges of the seat curve down eliminating any sharp edges and corners. When creating the stool, design studio Iskos-Berlin utilized the latest innovations in moulded plywood that allow new three-dimensional forms and reduced consumption of natural resources. The result is Soft Edge, a lightweight bar stool is well suited for domestic kitchens and restaurants alike.
In 2021, HAY renewed the surface treatments of its wood furniture by replacing their paints and lacquers with more environmentally friendly, water-based alternatives. This stool is of newer production and has been finished with a water-based lacquer.
