  The HAY Paper Shade (60cm) is a much higher quality than generic paper shades. The non bleached paper gives the perfect warm and soft lighting. I debated trying to find a more affordable option, but research suggested I would be disappointed in lesser quality versions. My shade arrived with some small inconsistencies, and after bringing it to their attention, customer service did not hesitate to send another to ensure that I was satisfied. A+

  Just as I imagined, the HAY paper shade is equal parts elegant and effortlessly cool. It hits the perfect Japandi note in my dining room. The 60cm (about 24") is the perfect size--it fills the space nicely but because it's so light and airy, it doesn't feel heavy. I ordered a canopy separately (not the HAY canopy) but installation was still a breeze--the metal "frame" inside the shade has a simple hook that I would imagine can attach to just about any light cord. The only thing to note is that the paper is surprisingly thick (good quality) but that means it does filter the light quite a bit. Great for giving off that soft glow, but if you need higher light levels, you will want to get a bright/large bulb. Still love it, and highly recommend!

  While we like the lantern itself, there was a problem with the wire frame that fits inside the shade. My husband had to spend some time getting it to fit. He contacted Customer Relations and they looked into the matter. They have since discovered that the current wire frames for this hanging shade do not fit perfectly inside the frame. The lantern is quite usable and looks ok, but it is not quite perfect! Since this is a generic defect in the wire frame, perhaps your supplier can rectify this problem in future production.
